STATE LEVEL VEDIC CHETNA AND CHARITRA NIMAAN SHIVIR CONCLUDES AT DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL PAKHOWAL ROAD, LUDHIANA

The six days Vedic Chetna and Charitra Nirmaan Shivir concluded at DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana with cheer and zest. The day added another golden leaf  in the history of DAV to be cherished forever. Around 300 students along with 50 teachers from 40 schools all over Punjab actively participated in the Shivir to achieve the real motive of selfless service towards society.  Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar welcomed the Chief Guest of the day Respected Shri S.K. Sharma ji (Director Publications) , the guest of Honour Mr. and Mrs. Satyapal Arya ji ,Pr. Mrs .Madhu Behl ji(Regional Director, Panchkula zone), Pr.Mrs. J.K.Sidhu (ARO Ludhiana Zone ), Pr. Dr. Mohan Lal Sharma, Pr. Jaya Bhardwaj, Pr. Pankaj Kaushik. Pr.Jaskaran, Mr. Yogesh Soni(LMC Member),  pioneers of Arya Samaj Captain V. K. Syal and Roshan Lal Arya ji . Dr. Bhullar expressed her gratefulness to the esteemed dignitaries and all the young Arya Samaj flag bearers for gracing the concluding day of the Shivir.

The programme started with the ceremonial Havan along with the recitation of Ved Mantras, Shabads and Bhajans. The participants prepared whole heartedly for their performances and gaily performed their acts which brought smile on everyone’s face. They left the audience enthralled with their mesmerizing classical dance performance. The Hon’ble Guests of the day conferred certificates to the winners of ‘Kaun Banega Arya Rattan’. The dignitaries bestowed their blessings on the students. Students cheered and applauded the achievements as well as patted each other’s back for the success of the event.

Hon’ble Sh. S. K. Sharma ji appreciated and congratulated the dedicated DAV Arya team for its efforts .He guided the students about the real meaning of being humane and to do selfless service. He commended the thought of empowering the young girls and added that children are like wet clay who can be moulded in any shape. He also shared that the course of our adult life depends upon what we learn in our childhood. Hence, it is the prime duty of parents and teachers to imbibe values in young children.

Sh. Satyapal Arya ji encouraged the students to implement the values they learnt during the camp as these will bring a positive transformation in their life. He bucked up the Aryas to organize such ‘Shivirs’ which will give platform to blooming samaritans to flourish the Aryan Philosophy on the worldly stage. Pr. Dr. Mohan Lal Sharma ji added luster to the moment with his generous and informatory words. He said that values play an important role in igniting the minds of the students.  A good quality life is the result of strong value oriented foundation which is the result of sheer hard work.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar extended her gratitude to all the dignitaries for their valuable presence and showering their blessings on the budding Aryas with their pearls of wisdom and elite knowledge. She admired the vibrant and confident performances of the young Aryas. The team DAV Pakhowal bid adieu to the students with heavy heart in hope of meeting again. She blessed all with happy and prosperous life ahead.

Seven Day Residential NSS Camp Concluded at DAV Public School 

The Seven Day Residential NSS Camp at DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana concluded with great enthusiasm and excitement under the guidance of Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar. The concluding day kicked off with the active preparations by the student volunteers of the school NSS Unit. The campus was decorated beautifully with buntings and festoons to welcome Hon’ble S. Dapinder Singh Lottey, Asst. Director Sports and Youth Services Punjab and Respected Mr. Sunny Bhalla, Councilor Ward No. 82 who graced the occasion as the honoured guests of the day.

The event began with the recitation of the auspicious Gayatri Mantra and sacred prayer to Almighty for blessing the humans with wisdom to live in harmony with biosphere. S. Dapinder Singh Lottey appreciated the student volunteers for making strenuous efforts in contributing their best to the social welfare. The students must utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to the individual and community problems. Such Camps would surely help the students to acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.

Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar threw light on the importance of holding NSS Units in school. She shared that the students need to understand the community in which they work. It enables them to relate to the community and identify the needs and problems of the community and involve themselves in problem solving. It also develops a sense of social and civic responsibility amongst the students.

The students enthralled the gathering with their energetic performances on Bhangra. The folk songs sung by the students were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The street play on Women Empowerment became a major attraction for the residents of Dugri Phase-I .The PPT on the review of all the camp activities was greatly admired by the guests. Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Programme Officer NSS Unit proposed the vote of thanks . The students carried away the fond memories of their stay with each other.

NSS CAMP INAUGURATED AT DAV PAKHOWAL ROAD LUDHIANA

DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana inaugurated a week long NSS Camp on its campus. The opening day kicked off with NSS volunteers who seemed fully charged with the zeal to serve the society. The camp was inaugurated by the pious hands of the school Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar who was equally keen to initiate the proceedings. The camp was led by Mr Rajesh Sharma (Programme Officer) and Mrs. Kulpreet Kaur (NSS Unit Incharge). The Camp began with the auspicious Mantra Ucharan , seeking the blessings of Almighty. Dr.Bhullar inspired the students by highlighting the importance of NSS camps and added that such programmes are meant to inculcate social welfare in students without bias. She even guided students to be proud of being a major unit of the society.

The camp started with Yogic drill followed by orientation session by the contingent incharge  Mr Rajesh Sharma who threw light on the activity planner of the unit. Ms. Esha Sharma, the school Counsellor took up an extensive  session on mindfulness.

The Unit visited Gurudwara Alamgir Sahib and undertook the noble task of planting saplings and spreading greenery in the sacred ambience.

The day concluded with an informative and productive group discussion on the take away of various activities throughout the day. It was indeed a fruitful pursuit to bring the students closer to the real situations and realize the importance of being a true human being.

STATE LEVEL VAIDIK CHETNA AND CHARITRYA NIRMAN SHIVIR INAUGRATED AT DAV PAKHOWAL ROAD LUDHIANA

DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana inaugurated the 6 days State Level  Vedic Chetna and Charitrya Nirman  Shivir on its campus on 2nd June 2019 for the students of 6th to 9th classes .The day added a golden leaf to be cherished in the history of DAV Pakhowal Road. Around 300 students along with 50 teachers from 40 schools all over Punjab came all the way to participate in the Shivir with an objective to learn the lesson of Simple living high thinking.

 The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar performed the ceremonial Havan along with the esteemed dignitaries Hon’ble Shri J.P. Shoor ji (Director PS-I) as the Chief Guest of the event, Respected Dr. S.S. Johl (Chancellor, The Central University Punjab, Bathinda and Vice Chairman ,DAV  Pakhowal Road) , Pr. Dr. Mrs Neelam Kamra (Secretary, APP Upsabha Punjab), Dr. Rakesh Puri ( Member, DAVCMC), Dr. Bharti Uppal ,Sh. Akshay Girdhar , Sh. Rakesh Jain and Sh. P.S. Bajaj ( LMC Members). The pioneers of Arya Samaj – Captain V.K Syal, Sh. Suresh Sharma,   Sh. Ajay Monga  and Sh. Sumit Tandon were also present to add  charm to the ocassion.The event was made more momentous in the presence of elite principals including  Pr. Mrs Kusum Khungar, Pr. Vinod Kumar, Pr. Paramjit, Pr. Saroj Bhanot and many other principals from various schools of Punjab.

Pr. Dr. Bhullar shared that with the blessings of Arya Rattan Padam Shri Dr. Punam Suri Ji Hon’ble President DAVCMC, New Delhi and President Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha,New Delhi and the guidance of Respected Shri J.P. Shoor Ji, Director PS-I, the camp has been initiated with the aim to inculcate and promote the eternal values and wisdom of the Vedas among the budding stakeholders. It is a pursuit to teach the students, the essence of being a true Arya. She also acknowledged the indispensible role of Respected Dr. S.K. Arora, Regional Director and Rev. Dr. Mrs Ajay Sareen, Manager for giving latitude to the event.

The Guests bestowed their blessings on the Young Aryans.  Hon’ble Shri J.P. Shoor ji appreciated and congratulated the dedicated Arya team for their efforts and enlightened the students for enthusiastically participating in the enriching activities . He guided the students about real meaning of being humane and to do selfless service. He shared the benefits of Chanting ‘Om’ and gave tips for a successful future.  He also motivated the girls to be strong and to stand against the crimes prevalent in the society.

Dr. S.S. Johl ji stressed that values play an important role in igniting the minds of the students. He encouraged the students to do their own chores themselves. He motivated the Aryas to organize such ‘Shivirs’ to prepare productive citizens, who could shoulder the responsibilities courageously.

The dignitaries released the school newsletter DAV Reflector and Shivir Darpan with their auspicious hands. The recitation of Ved Mantras and Bhajans made the ambience sacred. The mesmerising performance of the students on Classical Dance and Qawali enthralled the audience.  The guest speakers enlightened the students with their precious discourse. Sh. Suresh Sharma Ji threw light on the pivotal role of prominent Arya Samajists in bringing social reformation. He also introduced the crux of Vedas and Vedic principles to the budding Aryas.

The students started their day on a healthy note with a rigorous  Yogic drill. Motivational videos infused new life in the students and channelized the energy of the students into right direction. The students were thoroughly engaged in several thoughtful activities throughout the day. Many skill enhancement activities like fine arts, sacred hymns and bhajan sandhya, G.K. Quiz on Arya Samaj’ Kaun Banega Arya Rattan’ etc. were organized to educate and entertain the students. The students learnt performing many chores like washing their utensils and clothes themselves, thus learning the important lessons of dignity of labour and self dependence.

The day was well spent by the students in their extended family. It was an overwhelming venture for all.

‘Beat the Heat’ Activity at DAV Pakhowal

The tiny tots of PreKG of DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana actively involved in the Activity “Beat The Heat With A Juicy Treat”. The little cherubs  came in colourful summer attires. Children from different sections of Pre KG joined together to beat the scorching heat of the sun, by making Rasna juice. They enjoyed themselves while pouring and stirring Rasna in a tumbler full of water. It was real fun to watch children spilling and sipping the juice joyfully. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves by tapping their feet on the music and relished the food of their choice. Smiling faces, twinkling eyes and vibrant actions of little ones expressed   their happiness and joy.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar appreciated the delicious drinks made by  the tiny tots. She said that drinks are the best way to keep the body cool on a hot summer day and asked the little ones to enjoy taking  different cool drinks  during the summers. It was a fun filled day for the kids.

STORY TELLING COMPETITION AT D.A.V. PUBLIC SCHOOL LUDHIANA

A Story Telling Competition was organised at D.A.V Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana on May 29, 2019 for the students of Class IV on its campus. Around 30 students participated in this art of creative expression. The participants chose the story of their choice and presented in their own way using excellent expressions and intonation. These young story tellers used a variety of props to make their stories interesting and expressive. Each story concluded with moral highlighting different values of life.

Enthusiasm and passion of the students was also witnessed by the judges. The participants enacted on moral based stories like love, Education, Happiness and Unity. The young ones showcased their talents and performed their characters through their remarkable gestures, actions and dialogues. All the students participated enthusiastically. The competition inspired the children to think, work and enact creatively and promoted artistic excellence and made the event most enjoyable for one and all. The Individual positions were as follows:-

1.         1st position was secured by  Jashit IV- F and Angelpreet IV-G

2.     2nd position was bagged by  Samriti and Parth IV-F and  Vismat IV-G

3.     3rd position was secured by Angel IV-F and Ravia IV-C

 4.    Khyati IV-E and Eva IV-I bagged consolation prize.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar  lauded the efforts of the participants and remarked that such competitions enhance ability to use words effectively and would enable the students to create their own unique identity. She also shared that activities like ‘Story Telling’ provide students the platform for self expression and prepare them for speaking out in public with confidence and conviction. ROLE PLAY COMPETITION AND POEM RECITATION AT D.A.V. PUBLIC SCHOOL LUDHIANA

A Role Play Competition was organised at D.A.V.Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana on May 28, 2019 for the students of Class III  on its campus.Around 50 students participated in this art of creative expression. The students played the role of different cartoon characters like Doraemon, Cindrella, Chutki, Chota Bheem etc.The students narrated beautiful and convincing stories of their favourite cartoon characters. The young actors used a variety of props to make their roles interesting and expressive. The students exhibited utmost enthusiasm and passion in playing the roles. As the competition was intense, judges had a difficult time in choosing the winners. The first position was bagged by   Mishti of class III-D and Bhuvi of III A. The  second position was secured by Sanvi  of III I and  Deana of III-D.The third prize was awarded to Charvi of III C-  and the consolation prize was given to Hitashi III G.
The students of Class V actively participated in Poem Recitation Competition . Around 40 young poets from Class V participated to display their unbeatable poetic skills. The children  recited  poems confidently with proper voice modulation and expression .The students recited enthralling verses on different themes like Nature, Rain, Fair,  Cleanliness etc. The zeal of young poets was commendable. They also conveyed beautiful messages which reached straight to the hearts of the audience. The poems were recited in English. The young poet of Class V-C Kyna stood Ist. The second postion was bagged by Ryan of class V-F and the third position was secured by Gurleen Kaur of class V-F

The  Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar shared that insights on diction and pronunciation help the students to perform a notch higher. Such activities enhance their confidence and speaking skills. She acknowledged the efforts of the students as well as  the teachers & appreciated the winners.
She  appreciated the skills of the students and showered her heartfelt blessings on them. She also insisted that the seed of goodness could only be sown at the tender age. Childhood is the best time to mould the feelings and expressions of children. They must be duly encouraged and given the best opportunities to flourish. The school always focuses to give exposure to the creativity and critical thinking of the students. INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL PAKHOWAL ROAD, LUDHIANA

DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road Ludhiana declared its Student Council for the Session 2019-20 on 27-05-2019.  More than 300 students from classes IX-XII came forward to enroll themselves for various posts and participate wholeheartedly in the selection process. A comprehensive eligibility and selection criteria was set by the school administration to provide unparalleled opportunities and encourage maximum participation. The vigour and vision of the students bagged the appreciation of the panel which left no stone unturned to render a cherishable and  rich experience to the students.

The school felicitated the chosen school council members with a formal Investiture ceremony in the benevolent presence of Hon’ble Dr.S.S.Johl

(Padma Bhushan Awardee, Chancellor of Central University of Punjab,Bathinda and Vice Chairman DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana) as the Chief Guest and  Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar. Saksham Aggarwal (XII COM A) and Hrishita Arora (XII Hum B) were chosen to be the Head Boy and Head Girl of the school. The Council members swore to shoulder the responsibility. The school choir mesmerized the audience with soulful and melodious bhajans. Hon’ble  Dr.S.S.Johl congratulated the members of the council and motivated them to work diligently in the service of the school. Pr. Dr. Bhullar shared the role and responsibilities of the council members in the school. She stated that the school focuses to develop strong leadership and exemplary qualities amongst the students. Bhavanjali- A Tribute to Swami Shraddhananad

The Arya Samaj Wing of DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana observed a Bhajan Sandhya on the occasion of Swami Shraddhanand Balidan Diwas on its campus on 24th Dec 2018. The auspicious day began with pious Vedic Yagya performed by Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar, President Arya Yuva Samaj, Punjab alongwith Hon’ble Pr. Dr. Mrs. Neelam Kamra, Secretary Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab as the Chief Guest, dignitaries Hon’ble Shri Dharampal Jain ( Sr. LMC member), Rev. Capt V. K. Syal ji (an eminent educationists and Arya Samajist), Shri Roshan Lal Arya ji (Chief Secretary Ved Prachar Mandal Punjab) ,staff, students and their parents. The event became more momentous with the presence of Hon’ble ARO cum Principal Mrs J. K. Sidhu and Pr. Dr. Mrs Anu Verma as distinguished guests. A ceremonial Lamp was kindled as a symbol of enlightenment by the dignitaries. The melodious recitation of Vedic Mantras and bhajnas by the school choir blessed an eternal joy and peace to the gathering. The soulful psalms enchanted by the supporting staff mesmerised the audience encore. Hon’ble Pr. Dr. Mrs. Neelam Kamra enlightened the listeners with her prestigious discourse. In her address, she elaborated the vision and mission of Arya Samaj in propagating the virtues and values amongst the stakeholders. She appreciated the blissful performances of the staff and students and congratulated Dr. Bhullar for her prolific endeavour. Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar apprised the audience about the various initiatives taken by the school Arya Yuva Samaj wing. She threw light on the fruitful life of Swami Shraddhanand and acknowledged his indispensable contribution in spreading the preachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. She informed that the Bhajan Sandhya was a pursuit to impart the illuminating vision of Padam Shri Dr. Punam Suri Ji, President DAVCMC New Delhi and President Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi amongst the budding stakeholders. She assured that she would carry on this noble service for the well being of the society. Week- Long Book Fair at DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana

To inculcate the habit of extensive and intensive reading amongst students, an edifying Book Fair has been organised at D.A.V Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana from 25-05-2019 to 01-06-2019. Books on various geners and different subjects are put on display by Scholastic. The students seem to be super excited to choose and browse the books of their interest that were elegantly placed on the child- friendly racks.

Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar shared that reading forms an integral part of education skills. Reading is the foundation of all the other scholastic factors. The habit to read needs to be ignited with such book fairs. It gives immense satisfaction to see students investing money in books rather than wasting it. The idea of book fair is not only limited to reading but to acquiring wisdom and morals.

Mrs. Jaideep Kaur, Academic Supervisor shared that the teachers are trying their level best to make students read what they have bought during the upcoming summer break further encouraging them to exchange their books and multiply their knowledge.

 The opportunity to browse books of so many varieties at a time was a wonderful experience for the children.
