DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana organized ‘The Summer Fest-2019’ for its K.G. wing with great zeal and enthusiasm on 24-05-2019. The tiny tots came dressed up in ideal summer attires, teaming them up with trendy accessories. Children walked the ramp in style with pulsating music. Little ones impressed the onlookers with their admirable and adorable fashion sense. Smashing smiles, vibrant attires and stellar performances enthralled the audience. The platform rendered a golden  opportunity to develop their personality. It was a new experience altogether. The gala event witnessed children walked the ramp exhibiting confidence and style. The little angels relished learning and savouring seasonal fruits and vegetables. The students were extremely thrilled and positive on the fact that vegetables and fruits are better than junk food.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar appreciated the hard work of the students and guidance given by the teachers which resulted in making the show a great success. She said that the activity touched various aspects and strengthened a range of concepts in a fun filled yet enlightening manner. It was indeed a funfilled day for the kids.

Rhyme Show: An Expression of Heart

The children of UKG of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road Ludhiana actively participated in Rhyme Show held on 23 May,2019. Children recited the Rhymes confidently with proper voice modulation and expression. The tiny tots recited enthralling verses on different themes like Nature, Traffic rules and Indian soldiers.They came dressed up as different characters. The zeal of young orators was commendable. They also conveyed beautiful messages which reached straight to the hearts of  the audience.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar appreciated the skills of the students and showered her heartfelt blessings on them. She also insisted that the seed of goodness could only be sown at the tender age. Childhood is the best time to mould the feelings and expressions of children. They must be duly encouraged and given the best opportunities to flourish. The school always focuses to give exposure to the creativity and critical thinking of the students. Yellow Colour Fun

The tiny tots of DAV Public School, Sarabha Nagar Extn. Ludhiana had a gala time with Yellow Colour. A day meant to teach them about the hues of yellow shade. The students of PreKG came dressed up in yellow coloured attires, carried yellow objects and brought their lunch boxes packed with yellow fruits like mango, pineapple and banana. The teachers also taught them multiple benefits of eating fruits in terms of nutrition they provide. It was eye soothing to watch the tiny tots dressed up in yellow dresses and arriving in yellow buses. They looked like fresh sunflowers blazing in the sunlight with revitalizing fragrance. The activity room was adorned beautifully with yellow coloured charts, paintings and objects to cast long lasting imprint on the young minds. The day made the yellow colour favourite for the kids.

Red Colour Day at DAV Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana

In order to infuse the concept of red colour to the tiny tots DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana celebrated Red Colour Day in the School premises. The children were attractively dressed in different shades of red. Red coloured fruits, flowers and objects were displayed in a very artistic manner. The activity room was beautifully decorated. Students were made to recognize the colour through various games and playway activities. To make the generation next practical the school has adopted a noble method of educating the tiny tots.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar stated that Red has always been a favorite colour for everyone. It is a symbol of love and care. Along with the symbolism of love, knowledge of Red is important to read many traffic symbols and identify danger and caution. The kindergarten teachers have been very thoughtful to make the tiny tots understand the concept of red. After all true education lies in real learning. It was a complete fun day for tiny tots of Kindergarten.

DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana students bagged recognition at 26 th National Children’s Science Congress

The budding scientists Akansha Gulati and Vaishnavi Harjai of Class X from DAV Pakhowal Road Ludhiana participated in the 26th National Children’s Science Congress organized by National Council for Science and Technology Communication held at Bhubneshwar (Odisha) from 27 th Dec 2018 to 31st Dec 2018. The students grabbed heartfelt appreciation for their unique and novel project ‘Cost-Effective and Eco-friendly Superabsorbent Wows’. The visitors admired the creative thinking and indispensable utility of the project in controlling chronic health and environment related problems. 

The project Incharge Jagdeep Singh(Senior Physics Teacher, DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana) shared that the idea was deeply inspired by the problems faced by farmers while using fertilizers indiscriminately. He also shared that the project has been selected for Indian Science Congress to be held at LPU on 7th Jan 2019 and the team is geared up to experience the fruitful venture. 

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar congratulated the team for the wonderful performance. She stated that it was indeed a golden opportunity to display the project amongst around 1200 delegates from 29 States, 7 UTs, 10 Asian and 5 Gulf countries. Participation in such a grand event itself was a huge exposure. The school team came back enriched and is looking forward to work upon several projects. She also acknowledged the meticulous efforts of the students, Mrs Ritu Nohria, Science HOD and Mr Jagdeep Singh ( Project Incharge) in the construction of the admirable project. The school has been providing lucrative opportunities for the students to learn and progress.She also assured that the school is leaving no stone unturned to enhance the academic and co-curricular strength of the students.

POSTER MAKING ACTIVTY UNDER BUDDY PROJECT

As per the guidelines issued by Hon`ble District  Education Officer and under the able guidance of Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar, a Creative Poster Making Activity  on Drug Addiction  was organized at DAV  Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana on May 14,2019,under the banner of ongoing Buddy Project. The objective behind the conduction of such an artistic endeavour was to alarmingly remind the students about the ill effects of drugs. About 150 students of classes VI-XII participated in this creative venture, in which the participants articulated the literal realities of this sensitive issue through the quotations, symbols, sketches and paintings. Anti-drug messages conveyed through the multiple outlets proved effective in increasing knowledge and changing attitudes about drugs. The best posters were displayed on the bulletin boards to aware the non participants on the burning issue.

Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar said that the youth can act as a catalyst to curb drug addiction from the society. She shared that the objective behind this activity is to aware the students about drug menace .She stated that this program aimed at giving push to make society free of drug abuse  by making the vulnerable group of youngsters aware about it.

To rejuvenate and entertain the students amidst the rigorous session, DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana organised an enthralling ‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’ for the students of Class VI on 13-05-2019. Around thirty students participated in the sammelan. It was a treat for the Hindi language lovers which brought budding poets together on a golden platform.The students had a gala time expressing their feelings and emotions through their beautiful and self-composed poems. The students addressed various issues like corruption, inflation,  technology, elections, politicians, etc. in light humour and rhyme. The students freely exhibited their creative punches, satire and poetic license.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar appreciated the oratory skills of the students and their convincing views. She opines that feelings can be best expressed in mother tongue only. She admired the thoughtful expressions of the students in describing their concern about social

issues. Everybody enjoyed with enthusiasm and zeal. The poems left the gathering into peels of laughter. It was indeed a great platform for the students to give a vent to their feelings and sentiments in a creative way.

MOTHER’s DAY CELEBRATIONS AT DAV PAKHOWAL ROAD, LUDHIANA

DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana organised Mother’s Day Celebrations on its campus on 11th May 2018. It was a heartfelt tribute to all the mothers for their unconditional love and affection they bestow on their young ones throughout their lives. The students acknowledged the efforts made by mothers in filling their lives with joy and happiness. The school Kindergarten wing organised grand celebrations by inviting mothers to school to surprise the kids. A musical morning symbolic of various hues and joy was arranged for the mothers. Several entertaining activities were organised for the mothers and their kids together to celebrate their special moments. The mothers participated in various competitions like Cooking without Fire, Flower Arrangement, Solo Song Competition etc. with great enthusiasm and zeal to win for the sake of their children.  The students relished the sumptuous delicacies cooked by their mothers during ‘Food for the Soul’ activity. The mothers ruled the ramp with their confident walk like queens. The Mothers sang beautiful songs in SOLO SONG COMPETITION. The competitions were judged by super moms Mrs Nidhi Gupta, Mrs  Shikha Jain and Mrs Rupali Jain who undertook the difficult task to choose and crown the winning mothers. The staff and the students had a gala time rolling into the peals of fun and laughter. They  showed their respect and gratitude towards their mothers.

The Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar is a staunch believer of the fact that God created mother because he couldn’t be everywhere. A mother occupies the supreme position in the parenthood. The bond they share cannot be expressed in words. She said that it would be more appropriate to call each day a Mother’s Day. All the winners were felicitated by Pr.Dr Bhullar. Cultural Programme and Prize Distribution Ceremony at DAV Pakhowal

Pratibha- ‘Cultural Show and Prize Distribution Function’ at DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana

D.A.V. Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana organized  Pratibha- Cultural Show and Prize Distribution Function for the students of class VI ,who attained a stupendous feat in academics in the session 2018-2019 on 8^th May, 2019 . The event was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Mrs. Mona Sharma, an eminent educationist , as the Chief Guest of the day. The event was graced by many elite dignitaries including Hon’ble Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Session Judge and Hon’ble Shri. Rajan, school well wisher.The presence of grandparents and parents enhanced the glory of the function. Around 300 students participated in the function and made it memorable.

The event had a pious beginning with the traditional Lamp Lightening Ceremony followed by the recitation of Gayatri Mantra and DAV Gaan. The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar accorded a formal welcome to the elite gathering.  In her address she emphasized that this event was a small effort to acknowledge and appreciate students’ achievements . She also shared that the event was an integral part of British Council ISA activity which aimed to promote global learning of International culture. The moment was made special so that it can be treasured in the recesses of heart as cherishable memories.

The event was a spectrum of mesmerizing performances by the cherubs. The well-organized ISA activities depicting the various dance forms of different countries enthralled the gathering . The Russian Dance  and  the UK song left the crowd spellbound. Bangladesh and China dance stole the hearts of the gathering.  The academic achievers of session 2018-19 were awarded with trophies  and achievement certificates. Olympiad toppers were also acknowledged with medals .The Chief Guest Hon’ble. Mrs. Mona Sharma congratulated the students, parents and teachers for their achievement. She discussed the role of  teachers and parents for the successful future of a child. She told that their presentation is a tribute to the parents and teachers as a  gesture of gratitude.  Mrs Jaideep Kaur, Academic Supervisor proposed vote of thanks to all present, for sparing  moments of their valuable time to boost the morale of the school and the achievers . The event concluded with National Anthem. The event accomplished with fond memories of affection, celebration and success.

The Basketball Sports stars of DAV Pakhowal brought Laurels to school by clinching silver in Youth Basketball State Tournament held at Kapurthala from 29April to 1st May, 2019. The day became more momentous when sports stars Kanishka Dhir and Jasleen Kaur Bedi were bestowed the opportunity to be a part of Basketball team of Punjab at the National Camp. Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar accorded a warm reception to the winners. She shared that such tourney gives latitude to sports and physical fitness amongst youth throughout India. She felt proud of the girl power of Basketball team and acknowledged players for becoming the sports face of Punjab at the National Camp which is going on at Ludhiana Stadium. 

Dr. Bhullar congratulated all the teachers of the Physical Education Dept. for their hard work and good show. She appreciated players and their whole hearted endeavor and motivated them to achieve the pinnacle of success. She also extended her heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the participants and their respective parents.
