Harvest Fest Celebration

The International Harvest Festival celebrated at DAV Public

School, Pakhowal Road Ludhiana

Under the British Council- ISA Activity, Fruition – The International Harvest Festival was organized at DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road on April 12, 2019.  The function was inaugurated by the pious hands of Hon’ble Sham Sunder Malhotra, Senior Deputy Mayor, who was the Chief Guest of the day. Entire School enthusiastically participated to make the event a success. The Harvest festivals of seven counties- India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Russia, China and UK were showcased by the students. Teachers,students and visitors had a gala time  enjoying the cuisines and festivities of different countries. Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar acknowledged the efforts of the teachers and students. She shared that ISA activities give the young talent national and international exposure and allows them to go beyond pedantic knowledge.

Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar along with students and staff started the day by seeking the blessings of almighty. The school had a spiritual ambience throughout the day. The Kindergarten wing charmed the event with their adorable traditional attires. Dhol beats, folk music and folk dance added to the excitement. The children relished Harvest special dishes to mark the festivity.   Children were explained the importance of festival by showcasing the incredible and diverse culture and traditions.Vocabulary on the Harvest festival was shared with the kids. The parents applauded the exhibits prepared by the students.

Hon’ble Sham Sunder Malhotra, Senior Deputy Mayor expressed his pleasure on viewing the creativity of the students. He was highly impressed with idea of apprising the students about the global heritage and culture through activities. He praised the work done and blessed the students.

 Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar highlighted the significance of Baisakhi Celebrations. She shared that apart from being important for the farmers as a harvest festival, the festival is of prime importance in Sikhism as the foundation day of Khalsa Panth. The festival marks the unconditional love and efforts of a farmer who nourishes and looks after the crops as his own children. Through the celebrations the school saluted the strenuous efforts of all the farmers who work day and night to produce food supplies for the people .The celebrations concluded on a very happy and joyful note.

DAV PAKHOWAL

D.A.V. Public School, Sarabha Nagar Ext., Ludhiana came into existence in the year 2004. The school is being run by D.A.V. College Trust and Management Society, founded in 1885 by socially motivated people greatly influenced by the social reforms movement started by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. The first D.A.V.
