SEMI CLASSICAL COMPETITION HELD AT DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL PAKHOWAL ROAD, LUDHIANA

With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students, a semi classical dance competition for classes XI and XII was organized at DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. Around 20 students displayed their talent in a remarkable way. The students came dressed up in beautiful dresses. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The audience witnessed the enthusiasm and energy of the young dancers as they enthralled everyone with their performances. All the presentations were par excellence. The happiness of the children was amply evident from the applause and appreciation. In this competition first position was bagged by Hrishita Arora of XII-Humanities, Srishti Bhasin of XII -Humanities stood Second and the third position was grabbed by Chahat Gilhotra of XII- Commerce and Radhika Madan of XI- Humanities won consolation.

Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar acknowledged the efforts of the participants. She shared that the school focuses on identifying and polishing the hidden talents of the students. The teachers flourish the talents by giving a professional touch to the hidden creativity. She motivated them to take keen interest in all spheres of life. DAV Pakhowal Road had a gala time extending huge applause to Harsimar Singh Chaggar of Class IX-A for bringing accolades for school by getting second prize in worldwide Open School Essay Writing and Declamation Contest held in Canada. Harsimar Singh Chaggar shared his priceless educational venture at USA and Canada. He even shared that in USA, he has been given a chance to visit IT companies like Google & Salesforce and learn lot of things .

He achieved 2nd Prize in Global Essay Writing & Declamation Contest on the topic “ When life puts you in a tough situations, don’t say Why me ,Say Try me” in the age group of 14-17 Years along with Medal and $200 cheque from Carabram’s Punjab Pavilion ,which was held at Century Gardens Recreation,Brampton ,Canada for participating in worldwide open school competition for essay writing and declamation in the month of July. In Brampton’s Multicultural Festival he participated in Gatka and got chance to meet Canada’s MP Smt Sonia Sidhu , Mayor Mr Patrick Brown, NDP President Mr Jagmeet Singh , Ontario MPP Mr. Gurratan Singh and also met many prominent personalities during this Pavilion. He received the certificate from President Mr Prithpal Singh Chagger, The Punjab Pavilion, who promotes to discover Punjab’s rich culture and contribution to Canada’s history and heritage.

During his Canada Educational Tour he also participated in Malton Stem Camp 2019 Canada . He attended workshop on promoting peace and harmony in the different sections of International Society and received Award of Honour. He also attended the workshop on Literature and Community at Mian Mir International Foundation Canada and received Appreciation Award in the recognition of this service.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar congratulated him for his big achievement. She appreciated his magnificient performance.She said that he has added another golden leaf to the victorious history of the school . She blessed him with a successful wins in the future.

Janamashtami Celebration

Janamashtami Celebration at DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana

DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana celebrated Janamastami , the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna with great zeal on 23rd August, 2019. The celebration initiated a day prior with chanting religious hymn. The Kindergarten Wing was transformed into a land of joy , celebration and happiness to celebrate the auspicious occasion. Bringing mesmerizing memories from Gokuldham ,the tiny tots came dressed up as Radha and Krishana the other significant characters in the life of Shri Krishna. The Students also enjoyed rocking the cradle of baby Krishna. They lifted the whole arena with their lovely giggles and pious Bhajans. The staff members along with the principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar worshipped Lord Krishna.

A tableaux depicting significant scenes from Lord Krishana’s life was set up to reflect the glimpses of Krishna’s childhood events. The spiritual significance of the festival was explained to the students which made them aware that the festival encourages unity and faith.

Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar extended her best wishes to all on the auspicious occasion .She conveyed that the children are the incarnation of God and true devotion to God lies in their careful upbringing. She appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students and congratulated them for their enthralling and knowledgeable performances. Everyone was captivated to see the little ones performing with confidence and devotion. The event concluded with fun and enjoyment.

Social Science Quiz

Social Science Quiz at DAV Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana

The mind -boggling rounds of questions related to Geography, History, Legislative organs and Currents Affairs were exhilarating. The competition ensured that the teams were prepared thoroughly to put-up a tough challenge. In between different rounds there were few questions for audience to keep their interest alive and make them a part of the activity. The team members who stood victorious were:

With an objective to explore world of Social Sciences, ‘Quiz o mania: unleash the genius in you’ was conducted by DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana on 21st August, 2019. The students of Class VIII displayed the spectrum of awareness and intelligence as they answered the Quiz Master with all their wit. Every round witnessed a nail-biting competition, that it made elimination and short listing very difficult. The teams that cleared the preliminary rounds made their way to the finals.

ROLE PLAY AND PATRIOTIC GROUP SONG COMPETITION AT D.A.V. PUBLIC SCHOOL, LUDHIANA

A Role Play Activity for the students of Class II and Patriotic Group Song Competition for Class I were organised at D.A.V. Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana on August 19, 2019. Around 200 students participated in the art of creative expression. The students played the role of different leaders Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, Rani Lakshmi Bai etc. The students explained their characters enthusiastically. The young actors used a variety of props to make their roles interesting and expressive. The students exhibited utmost excitement and passion in playing the roles.

The patriotic songs sung by students filled the audience with great patriotism. The students exhibited utmost enthusiasm and passion in their songs. As the competition was intense. Judge had a difficult time in choosing the winners.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar shared that such activities enhance their confidence and speaking skills. She acknowledged the efforts of the students as well as the teachers & appreciated the participants.

She appreciated the skills of the students and showered her heartfelt blessings on them. She also insisted that the seed of goodness could only be sown at the tender age. They must be duly encouraged and given the best opportunities to flourish. The school always focuses to give exposure to the creativity and critical thinking of the students. Teej Celebrations

Teej Celebrations at DAV Pakhowal Road

DAV Public School ,Pakhowal Road,Ludhiana organized traditional Teej Celebrations on its campus on 17th August 2019 with gaiety and zest. The students came dressed up in beautiful cultural attire. The girls looked adorable as ‘Mutiyaars’ adorned with ethnic costumes, traditional jewellery, patterns of henna, prandas etc and the boys turned up as mighty ‘Gabrus’. The traditional colourful costumes of the students and faculty enhanced the charm of the celebrations.

The students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in all the activities especially planned to make the occasion more meaningful and enjoyable. They showed their creativity in Giddha and Bhangra competition, ramp walk, declamation etc. The girls sang melodious Punjabi folk songs and performed Giddha. Students danced and enjoyed eating traditional sweets. Jasmine Kaur 10+2 Humanities bagged the title of Teej Queen, 1st Runner up was grabbed by Jasleen Kaur 10+1 Non-Med and 2nd Runner up by Harsimrandeep Kaur and Ekampreet Kaur. Overall the day concluded on a happy and cheerful note.

Ms. Gurdeep Kaur, the activity incharge stated that the idea of this celebration is influenced by the culture and heritage of Punjab. There is a dire need to restore the losing cultural values among students. Also it strengthens the roots of youth. Each activity and celebration in the school is governed by elements of life skills which have been an integral part of wholesome education. Moreover, it is fun to teach culture in this manner.

The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar graced the occasion with her benign presence. She showered her blessings and best wishes upon the staff and the students. She shared that happiness wrapped in such little celebrations gives a long lasting joy. Such moments are exotic and need to be recorded as cherishable memories. The arrival of such festivity has brought a tremendous relaxation and refreshment. Such celebrations increase the charm of childhood. It was really nostalgic for her to see the reflection of her childhood in her students.

ENGLISH GROUP DISCUSSION

ENGLISH GROUP DISCUSSION HELD AT DAV PAKHOWAL ROAD

To prepare the students for the competitive world and hone their communication skills, DAV Public School, Ludhiana organized a Group Discussion in English for Classes XI and XII on August 16, 2019 . Around 45 students from classes XI-XII participated enthusiastically in this competition to deliberate on several thought provoking topics concerning issues like ;

Abrogation of Section 370 and 35A- Impact on India and the world, God – a myth of reality, Is India ready for cashless economy, Will Artificial intelligence take away human jobs, Social media-impact on human behavior and society etc.

The participants were assessed on the basis of their communication skills, creative bent of mind, and analytical abilities .The students gave a tough competition to each other while justifying their point of views on the given topics . Shreya Pruthi, Vaishnavi, Vishesh Nayyar, Vishwas Vaid, Chahat Gilhotra and Manav Garg were declared the best orators. Each participant was awarded with a certificate of appreciation for their wonderful performance.

Ms. Shaveta Kaplish, HOD English shared that the activity aimed to give a systematic vent to the thorough knowledge and observation of the students. Their practice and complete indulgence were remarkable to watch.

She emphasized that Group discussion has its prevalence and application at both Corporate and Academic levels. She stressed the significance of group discussion among the adolescent age group so that students can make their mark in this competitive era. She boosted their morale by advising them to participate in such types of activities as these activities help students to develop confidence and improve communication skills. She also added that such competitions lead to free flow of ideas and sensitize them towards the issues that need attention.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The staff and students of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ldh celebrated Independence Day on the campus on August 14, 2019.The students celebrated the red letter day with great patriotic fervour, zeal and zest .The entire school was festooned with Tricolour balloons, flags and kites . The corridors were decorated with various artefacts instilling the sense of patriotism amongst the spectators. The students came dressed up as Freedom Fighters and national Leaders of India to spread the message of love and peace.The school choir mesmerized the gathering with melodious the heartouching patriotic songs. The students hoisted Tri colour flags and the teachers explained the importance of Independence Day to the kids.

On this patriotic occasion, students of classes 8th to +1 showcased a colorful spectacle of India’s vision through their overwhelming Desh Bhakti songs. Poetical expressions of the students left all mesmerized.The thought provoking speeches on the topics:- Progressive India and Independence Day were commendable. The Participants were highly acknowledged for their zealous efforts.

She threw light on the supreme sacrifices made by the great martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of freedom. She also said that the freedom is very precious and it is very necessary to preserve it. Dr. Bhullar advised the students to become ideal citizens of the country and encouraged them to establish belongingness towards the Motherland. She spread the message of love and peace.

The day was devoted to commemorate and acknowledge the efforts and sacrifices made by the real Heros of the nation.

Talent Hunt Competition at DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana

DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana organized an Inter Class Talent Hunt Competition for Class- IV on 7/08/2019. The students participated in various dance categories like classical, semi classical and folk. Around 50 students displayed their budding talent in a remarkable way. The students came dressed up in beautiful and colourful dresses. The first position in the classical and semi classical dance category was bagged by Angel of class IV-G. Ishani of class IV – A got second prize and Sukriti of class- IV-I got third position in the same category. The consolation prize went to Jannat of IV-B class. In the category of folk dance, Upwan of class IV-H stood first, Hartej of class IV- G and Pari of class IV-A got second position and Third position was bagged by two students Satnam and Moksh of class IV-C

DAV PAKHOWAL ROAD CELEBRATES SUR SANGAM ‘ THE RHYTHM OF LIFE ‘

DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana organised Class VIII presentation ‘Sur Sangam- the rhythm of life’ and Prize Distribution on 6th August,2019. The event was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Honorable Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar. Around 200 students participated in the function and made it colourful with their vibrant performances. The event had a pious beginning with the traditional Lamp Lightning Ceremony followed by recitation of Ved Mantras and DAV Anthem. The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar accorded a formal welcome to the grandparents and parents of the student. In her address she shared that the event is a small effort to polish the talent and presentation skills of the kids. She also admired the efforts of the teachers who left no stone unturned in grooming the students for a spectacular show. She added that their work should not be judged but observed as the finest work in their capacity She also thanked the parents for their cooperation and support to the school.

The cultural event began with sacred Saraswati Vandna performed by the little devoutes. The choreography on women empowerment convinced the audience to the core. The Rajasthani and Classical dance filled the audience with vigour and enthusiasm. The musical performances by students singing Classical song and sufi song enthralled the crowd with their melodious notes. The awesome one act play on pollution left the crowd spellbound. The English Drama on’ Humanity needs to be valued’ depicted the reality of the society. The Punjabi skit on ‘Aao school chaliye’ made the audience nostalgic. The presentations of all the students were par excellence. The meritorious students who had excelled in academics and various olympiads were honoured with trophies and medals.

Mrs Jaideep Kaur, the academic supervisor proposed vote of thanks to all present for sparing their valuable time to boost the morale of the school and the students. The whole programme came to a splendid end with National Anthem.
